Every time I take Tucker for a walk around our neighborhood, on the roads that we've walked over and over again, I still find something new a beautiful to marvel at. Everything from new little flowers to giant old churches there's always something new to explore. So I'm starting a new series called Out and About where Natasha and I can share the little things around our home that we discover and appreciate.
I've really been focusing on letting the simple little things make me happy these days. I'm trying not to create scenarios in my head and build up these big expectations for life that usually let you down. But rather focus on what is already there and good in my life. The other day I let myself be happy for hours about a new pretty peach hair tie that a friend bought for me. It was peach and $3 but it made my day.
Today it was a book exchange that I found outside a church while walking Tucker. The bright blue box against the old brick and iron stood out so nicely on the cold grey day. And the idea of sharing your favorite stories and discovers someone else's stories is so sweet. I wish I had some old books to donate but right now the only thing I have lying around is an old matrix algebra textbook. Someday I'll have some old book I don't need and then I'll know where to take them.
