Happy new year everyone. I can't believe how fast 2013 went, it always amazes me how much can happen in a year. I moved in with my sister, got a new job, new man, a college degree. It was also the year that all my college friends moved away and I had to say goodbye to Ethel, but overall it was a very good year.
Looking ahead there are a few things I want to improve on. Living a healthy lifestyle is number one, less eating out, more exercising. Now that I don't have school I also want to make time for things I care about like reading and volunteering. I just started filling out the forms to help coach Special Olympics this spring.
I try not to set too many new years resolutions. In my mind a new years resolution is easily broken but a 'lifestyle change' is more serious. So I keep my resolutions more light hearted, fun things that will improve my life but not serious things that need to be dealt with. So this year I resolve to read at least one book a month (The list of books I want to read is much longer than 12, but hey you have to start somewhere.) I resolve to write in the little diary I bought myself everyday, and I resolve to find new things that Charlie and I can do together that are out of our norm (more habitat for humanity, less sitting in restaurants.)
So there it is. I think I can do those things. What are some of your resolutions?

What kind of new years resolutions did you all set? Any suggestions on the reading list?
