Winter

When we were home for Thanksgiving we took Tucker down to the pond to see if he was interested in a little duck hunting. He was very curious but very wary of the water. Then we tried throwing snow at him to see if he would catch it, he didn't. for some reason he didn't seem to enjoy snow being thrown in his face. We ended up just running around the yard mostly which he definitely enjoyed.

Squirrel Hunting

Today on a walk Tucker's dream came true, almost. He didn't actually catch a squirrel but I got scared that he was going to for a second. I love watching him chase them but I don't want to deal with what would happen if he actually got one.

We were walking down an alley on an afternoon walk when we both spotted two squirrels about 30 ft away. Since there was no way he could run out into the road and there were no cars around I dropped his leash and let him hunt. And then quite, polite, lazy Tucker turns into sprinting, barking, excited Tucker. 

I realize that it sounds kinda lame that I'm talking about a dog chasing squirrels. Whats the big deal? But this dog can barely be bothered to get up for dinner. All he does is lay around, cuddle, sleep, and certainly not bark. If he does play it's for about a 2 minute burst and then he's the one who ends the game because he wants to go back to sleep. So seeing him get excited about something is a big deal for Natasha and me. 

How do you get a lazy dog to exercise? Or do you even need to?

Saturday Morning

It's actually Wednesday today, and it's dreary and cold, which reminded me that I forgot to post these pictures from the beautiful sunny Saturday a while back.

Tucker's new routine lately is to come and check on me in the morning once Natasha has fed him his breakfast. It was such a beautiful warm sunny day I just had to go down to the farmers market, so I grabbed a hat and Tucker's least and we went out to explore.

Flowers are something I always want to buy but for some reason never do. I don't quite know why, I'm a big fan of flowers as gifts, just never for myself I guess.

Farmers Market

Saturday mornings there's a farmers market in the middle of downtown, which is conveniently only 2 blocks from our new place. I always mean to go but never actually make it cause it's early in the morning. But now that we live so close as soon as I woke up I grabbed Tucker and went out to explore the farmers market. They even had wheat free dog treats!

The Week We Puppy Sat

This week we babysat a 10 week old golden doodle puppy named Ellie. She was just the sweetest thing. She and Tucker became instant buddies and played and napped together all day. We were both worn out by the end of the week but it was definitely a lot of fun and we were very sad to see her go. She was so good I can actually say the week was pretty uneventful, but she's so cute I just had to share pictures!

Dog Swim

Here's a video I put together of our day at the dog swim. The local community pools host it every September before they drain the pool for the winter. We brought Tucker (of coarse) and Bella, Charlie's dog. Neither of them liked being in the water that much. Bella is much more adventurous and spent the entire time racing around seeing what everyone else was doing while Tucker was pinned to Natasha's side.
